A play on the well known Caribbean proverb, “Where horse reach, donkey go reach,” which means that everyone, no matter their size, stature or resources, they have the potential to reach where those who are already established have reached."

The theme is inspired by The I AM Experiment, which is an intense, personal and revealing exercise carried out in a circle of community - that allows for deep introspection while fortifying creative visioning and setting of missions for ways forward as a creative practitioner. Where Horse Reach, is equally introspective and is centered on the concept of perseverance. As a concept, perseverance embraces persistence, stick-with-it-ness and the drive to overcome obstacles in order to achieve a goal. Success looks different for us all, the goal looks different for us all but perseverance is universal.

With this in mind, we welcome submissions from artists in St Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago working in mixed media, experimental film, performance art and digital art to submit work that centers on perseverance - continued effort to achieve something despite difficulties, opposition or failure - reinforcing the belief that everyone, no matter their size, stature or resources, has the potential to reach where those who are already established have reached - “Where horse reach, donkey go reach.”
