Joki One X East Yard

Many of you first met us through Sailors Aboard (2025), our collaborative presentation with Republic Bank Exodus Steel Orchestra.

In 2026, we embarked on a new chapter.

For the first time, we stepped forward independently as Joki One x East Yard, producing and leading our own small band, spearheaded by Walda George-Waithe of Joki One and Kevon Gareth Foderingham of East Yard Enterprises.

It was a leap of faith, one that was deeply personal and incredibly meaningful. Your decision to support us and trust us with your Carnival experience was not taken lightly. We remain grateful to every masquerader, supporter, collaborator, and well-wisher who believed in the vision, the craftsmanship, and the spirit behind Sailors in Denim 2026.

It was an honour to carry you on the road.

Throughout the season, we remained committed to delivering care, creativity, and performance while staying true to our love for Sailor Mas. We proudly continued our approach of reimagining traditional Sailor Mas through contemporary, fashion-forward designs that could live beyond Carnival Tuesday as wearable garments.

The response exceeded our expectations, earning us:

• ️3rd Place – Fancy Sailor Category

• ️4th Place – Best Monday Mas Small 

• ️4th Place – Small Band of the Year - Uptown Carnival Improvement Committee (U.C.I.C.)

• ️5th Place – Senior Small Band of the Year

As we look ahead, we invite you to continue the journey with us.

In 2027, we set sail with our newest portrayal:

Inspired by the peace, creativity, freedom, and community of the Flower Power generation, this portrayal reimagines Sailor Mas through a colourful voyage of love, connection, and self-expression.
