East Yard invites artists, students and emerging creatives of all ages to submit work for The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives, an exhibition presented in commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Older Persons.

Fostering Cultural Diplomacy and Community Engagement through the Arts
East Yard continues to foster cultural diplomacy and community engagement through the creative arts, using art as a platform to bridge real and perceived differences in customs, backgrounds, nationalities and ethnicities. We believe the arts can create curiosity, interest, dialogue and appreciation, providing opportunities for people to encounter perspectives and cultures different from their own.
Our work is rooted in Arima, where we are committed to bringing greater access to visual art, cultural exchange and creative experiences to the community. Through our own curated exhibitions and programmes, East Yard provides a platform for artists from Arima and environs, as well as across Trinidad and Tobago, to share their work, ideas and perspectives with local audiences.
Our exhibitions are also designed to deepen community engagement by exploring themes that connect art with the social, cultural and everyday experiences of our communities. By creating opportunities for residents, students, visitors, artists and organisations to encounter and engage with art in Arima, we hope to contribute to a more vibrant and connected cultural life in the borough.
At the same time, we are interested in expanding the cultural conversation beyond our borders. Through partnerships with overseas non-conventional exhibition spaces, creative enterprises and overseas missions resident in Trinidad and Tobago, we seek to create new pathways for cultural exchange — exploring how Caribbean art can be exhibited and shared with foreign publics, and how international art and creative perspectives can be brought to audiences here in Arima.
In this way, East Yard seeks to bring the world to Arima and bring Arima to the world — using art and cultural exchange to build relationships, encourage dialogue and create greater understanding across communities and borders.
