February to June 2026

​

FEBRUARY — Carnival, Mas & Heritage in de YARDcreative exploration of Carnival culture and heritage through wearable art. Participants will engage in jewelry-making workshops that transform everyday and traditional materials into expressive adornment, including jeans jewelry and simple beaded designs. Rooted in Carnival aesthetics and storytelling, the sessions celebrate creativity, resourcefulness, and personal style while passing on craft knowledge in de YARD.

 

MARCH — Women, Art Making & Creativity in de YARD

Visitors will explore accessible art-making, textile craft techniques through hands-on creative sessions celebrating women and self-expression through textile craft. The experience emphasizes creativity, skill-building, and community, inviting participants to create functional art pieces while connecting through shared making in the Yard.

 

APRIL — Easter, Renewal & Creative Craft in de YARD

A month-long creative celebration of Easter and renewal through hands-on making and collective play. Activities include bonnet and headpiece design, basket and gift crafting, community mural painting inspired by Easter themes, and a family-friendly Easter scavenger and egg hunt. The series blends creativity, tradition, and community connection, inviting participants of all ages to engage in art-making, collaboration, and joyful exploration in de YARD.

 

MAY — Mental Health, & Community Wellness in de YARD

A restorative month focused on mental health, embodiment, and collective care through creative and somatic practices. Experiences will include breathwork, grounding, and massage, yoga in the Yard, burnout recovery tools for creatives and more. Creative expression is woven throughout with art-therapy–inspired painting, poetry for healing and self-expression, and mask-making as a reflection on identity and the faces we wear. The series creates space for rest, release, reflection, and reconnection within the community.

 

JUNE — Environment, Sustainability & Craft in de YARD

A hands-on exploration of sustainability through creative reuse and nature-based making. Participants will engage in upcycled tote and notebook creation, stamp making, zine-making, and fabric scrap patchwork, alongside natural dyeing using leaves, roots, and spices. The series highlights environmental awareness, resourcefulness, and low-waste creative practices, encouraging participants to transform discarded and natural materials into meaningful, functional art within de YARD.

Day in de YARD invites you to slow down, create, and connect in the heart of Arima. Join us on Fridays and Saturdays, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for a 4-hour immersive experience featuring hands-on workshops led by local artists and practitioners, creative activities rooted in Trinbagonian culture, wellness, craft, film, and storytelling, alongside local wines, teas, juices, snacks, and meals. Spend the day connecting with makers, change-makers, and community leaders while exploring rotating murals and our Arima Icon Wall installation. Bookings are now open from February to June 2026.
