Small Stage Saturdays
Small Stage Saturdays is a unique collaborative monthly residency between East Yard Enterprises, Bacano Leaf, Joki One and local performers, hosted at AMPLIFY Studio Café, where performers get the opportunity to experiment, refine their craft, and build a meaningful audience connection through work
rooted in social impact. This residency blends performance with storytelling, creating a
fully immersive, human-centred format and culminates in an intimate monthly Saturday or weekend show.
Intimate venues and small stages have been shown to be some of the most effective environments for artistic growth.
Research from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the UK’s Creative People and Places Programme, and multiple performing arts studies highlights that small audience settings:
-
Allow artists to test new material safely and with immediate feedback
-
Increase audience engagement, retention, and emotional impact
-
Foster deeper storytelling and authenticity
-
Support innovation through lower risk and higher creative freedom
-
Strengthen emerging artists’ readiness for larger stages

JOIN US
Small Stage Saturdays is about bringing people closer to the work and the people behind it. Once a month at AMPLIFY Studio Café, we invite you into an intimate space where artists can try new ideas, share honest stories, and connect with a real audience in a meaningful way. It’s relaxed, thoughtful, and rooted in community — the kind of space where performances feel personal and conversations continue long after the last note or final line. By joining us, you’re not just coming to a show; you’re helping create the kind of environment where artists can grow, take creative risks, and build something genuine with the people who are there to experience it.
